  • All ‘Voice Courses’ are a one month vocal training program that will enhance your vocal skill, knowledge and confidence.

This course teaches fundamental breath and voice practices that will be able to help you as a voice professional sustain your voice for longer. Leading to greater vocal health and strength.

This course is based in the physicality of voice, what the voice feels like being produced in the body not how your ears perceive it.

  • Each of the courses focus on a subset of vocal professional or athlete.

While many of the exercises are the same, the functional application of them is different.

Functional application is the most important part of vocal training. Without it, you are a human standing in a room making weird noises with no way to apply them to real life.

It is important that each vocal athlete has their own way of applying their knowledge to their own environment.

  • For those who use their voice for work and life and want to protect it for a long time.

For those struggling with their breathing or voice while speaking.

For those who struggle to project.

For those who run out of air, or even have loud breathing habits.

For those who are experiencing tension in their voice, fatigue with their voice or find their voice is unpredictable or unreliable.

For those that want to pursue or retain a career using their voice and need some help getting started.

  • How to use your voice safely and for the long term!

The course is split into two parts. ‘Educational videos’ and ‘Exercise Videos’

In the ‘Educational Videos’, one per week, you will learn:

    • Basics of Vocal Mechanics - How the voice works!

    • Vocal Health

    • Vocal Management

    • Your Voice and The Future - Continuing your voicing journey!

In the ‘Exercise Videos’, one per week, you will learn different foundational exercises that provide you with better:

    • Breath management

    • Breath support

    • Volume Management

    • Projection skills

Basically, everything you need for foundational, effective and safe vocal habits!

  • All courses are for ONE MONTH.

However, these can be extended if required.

Once per week you will watch an ‘Educational Video’ and an ‘Exercises Overview Video’ to support the exercises for that week.

Then to start building your vocal stamina and fitness you will use the ‘Exercise Video’ to follow along and do your vocal practice, 5 times a week.

Each week is supplemented with a written ‘Exercise Handout’ and an ‘Exercise Tick List’ to keep you on track.

Throughout the course, you can book a 20 minute 1-1 with Tessa should you need it at a small additional cost. This price is exclusive to all course students. You can also email her at anytime with questions.

  • Peace of mind from taking the guess work out of voice work!

    • Increased breath awareness and support

    • Increased vocal awareness for use and vocal health/management

    • Increased vocal confidence

    • A foundational warm up routine

    • Vocal practices you can use your whole vocal career

    • No more guess work about how to use your voice

    • A strong, reliable and confident voice

  • Great question!

This varies from course to course.

    For all courses:

    • Maximum 90 minutes, once per week, to watch educational videos and guides.

    Actors Voice Course

    • 20 to 35 minutes of vocal exercise 5 times per week. Time is dependant on the week.

    Teachers and Speakers

    • 15-25 minutes of vocal exercise 5 times per week. Time is dependant on the week.

Why are they different? In researching the different vocal professions I found this.

    • Actors on average had more time to spend on their voice and preferred the in depth routine.

    • Teachers and speakers needed something faster as their life styles were different. So adjustments were made.

All exercises are valuable and work towards the same outcome, a strong, healthy, reliable voice.

Actors have the option to take exercises out if they have time constraints. Teachers are welcome to add them in if they have more time.

All options are available inside the course once purchased.

  • This is important.

You cannot fix your voice with ‘an exercise’ or ‘a magic pill’.

If you are wanting to fix your voice over night this is not the place for you and I would be willing to bet that anyone selling you this dream is telling some clever marketing fibs. You’d never believe someone saying you could get fit after one run. The same applies here.

Your voice is a muscle. Muscles take time to learn new skills and ‘get fit’.

You will also be required to make sound. This seems like a silly thing to say, but if you are not yet willing to make sound out loud this course will may be difficult to process through.

Take the time and learn the skills. Your voice is the same as any other body part so be prepared to give it some time.

  • This course is not a replacement for vocal therapy or intervention. This is for primarily healthy voice users to expand their knowledge and skill. If you are experiencing difficulty with your voice please consider seeing a speech therapist or an ear, nose, throat specialist. You can do this by contacting your general health doctor.

If you have any serious physical injuries, previous vocal injuries or any other conditions that may inhibit your participation, please email Tessa first before signing up .

This course has been vetted by speech and language therapists, voice specialists, professional voice over artists, and evidence based practice singing teachers and vocal coaches from America, Australia and New Zealand. It was also tested with ‘BVS (Breath and Vocal Stamina) Trial Participants’. All of which experienced an increase in their vocal capacity.

  • Well, because voice work is a long process and can be difficult to understand and apply without the proper guidance.

If you are someone who uses your voice for work, for fun or for life, unless you study voice itself via singing or performance courses, it is likely you were never taught how to use it or how it works.

    I want to help you!

I want to help you bridge the gap between the voice you have and the voice you want.

    Strong, reliable, confident voice use.

  • “You hear "breathe into your diaphragm" and "project from your diaphragm" a lot when doing things that involve voice, but you're never really taught what that means. Tessa's program breaks it all down for you in a fun and easy-to-digest way, and will help you understand your own body and how it feels to speak clearly, effectively, and sustainably.”

    - BVS Trial Participant, Voice Over Artist

"Doing this course gave me confidence with my voice. Before this, I didn’t know why I was having an off voicing day. Now I can identify why it’s happening and feel confident that I can manage it or warm up correctly to help it."

BVS Trial Participant - Voice Over Artist

"Tessa made the voice and how it works so easy to understand. I have been singing and doing voice classes for years and no one has broken it down the way Tessa did. Her enthusiasm is infectious and she made voice work simple and accessible."

  • Yes, unfortunately there may be a few.

Tessa is an independent business owner who despite checking and checking and running spelling programs through her content, still has mistakes.

Why mention it? Because often people mistake spelling and grammar for intelligence and professionalism. It is to be assured that Tessa is professional, well read and proficient in her field.

Funnily enough, the more she has delved into the sounds of the human voice, the worse her spelling as become. Go figure!

So if you see a mistake, take it with a light hearted chuckle and feel free to let Tessa know.
